RIP Steve Jobs
Touchscreen Pioneer Passes
We are all saddened to hear of the untimely passing of Apple’s co-founder and CEO Steve Jobs, who died yesterday aged just 56, ironically, just one day after his organisation launched the latest iPhone 4S.
Just two months ago he resigned his post after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. The man responsible for transforming the world of computing, he put touchscreen technology into the hands of everyone from all walks of life, and kick-started the advent of progressing it further into the world of commerce, beyond the restrictions of PC-based technology.
He created the iMac computer, iPod and the iPhone and made touch screens popular with the masses. He showed businesses how iPads could work in all kinds of applications, and connected the whole world in a simple, fun, accessible way.
Today, Apple is one of the most valuable technology companies, second only to Exon Mobil, and public tributes have flooded in including those from Bill Gates and President Obama of the US.
Today we remember, praise and think of this forward-thinking individual for whom we all thank for inspiring us to take his vision into the future at home and in business.
