Panasonic has announced two new light-weight LCD displays designed for a broad range of digital signage applications, including airports, shopping centres and restaurants.

The first models available in the LCD series are 42” and 47” full HD displays, each equipped with the latest LCD technology and a slim design of 101mm thickness with an 18 mm bezel, allowing installation in virtually any location. The new screens offer a high brightness of 700cd/m2 and an IPS panel for wide viewing angles. These features allow images to display clearly in bright locations and high traffic areas.

Panasonic’s fanless design is intended to eliminate dust build-up and lower operating noise, which can often limit options when placing displays. Power consumption can also be controlled automatically as built-in sensors detect ambient lighting and automatically adjust the backlight brightness to match the viewing environment.

“These new FHD displays are perfect for large open spaces as they’re lightweight and ideal for multi-screen installations,” commented Enrique Robledo, Marketing Manager, Panasonic Professional Displays Europe.

“Whether it’s a single screen or multiple, there’s industry demand for bright displays that can deliver sharp, clear images when placed in open spaces with high levels of natural light, such as train stations, shopping centres, schools or banks.”
