Symbius implements digital wayfinding solution at London hotel

Novotel Signage

The Symbius wayfinding solution

Novotel London West has commissioned Symbius to create a digital wayfinding solution to improve visitors’ experience at the hotel.
The solution was designed to make better use of the hotels' directional signage throughout its vast conference facility and multiple reception areas. The brief was to upgrade its current booking system and to utilise a mix of digital and static wayfinding signage to direct delegates to conference and meeting areas of the hotel and to entertain guests with marketing messages to help promote its facilities.

This flagship hotel provides the international business community with exhibition, conference and events facilities. There is space for up to 3,000 delegates across 32 meeting rooms spread over four separate floors; the sheer size and complexity of the hotel called for the need of an easy-to-use, flexible events signage solution which would ensure delegates could easily navigate around the hotel and identify their meeting room at a glance.

The signage solution includes digital displays outside each of the 32 meeting rooms for meeting/event information. Floor information point screens provide wayfinding signage across four floors, as well as indicating which meeting rooms are booked. Additionally, marketing digital screens in the main reception areas have also been implemented.

Steve Erskine, IT Manager London Hotels, Accor UK & Ireland Hotels praised the new signage commenting that it “provides a user interface that any member of staff could use with as little as five minutes of training and gave us a highly customisable solution. The system has been so reliable we have not had the need to call support once.”
