This Week: DIGITAL SIGNAGE EXPO 2010

KIOSK EUROPE EXPO 2010 and DIGITAL SIGNAGE EXPO 2010 will offer the latest multi-sector information on digital signage, self-service and interactivity from live installations in the Futures Parlour and Interactive Museum will showcase the most innovative interactive solutions to 40 top speakers in the Open Forum and new Workshops programmes on Mobile Interactivity and Museums, alongside the offerings of over 140 exhibitors showcasing their latest solutions.
High profile international exhibitors will use their meeting of industry experts to introduce their latest solutions and product innovations. Innovative solutions to see include 3D kiosks and digital signage solutions, holographic displays, mobile interactivity, augmented reality and the very latest in multi-touch and touch technology.
In the Futures Parlour, visitors can experience an insight into the future of interactivity: a range of universities and companies will present prototypes for future scenarios which encompass mobile interactivity, real-time augmented reality, gesture, 3D digital models and other live customer interaction scenarios. Mobile interactivity as a new kind of interactivity for self-service and digital signage is a particular emphasis here, with various applications on show including marketing, ticketing and payment. Visitors to KIOSK EUROPE EXPO 2010 and DIGITAL SIGNAGE EXPO 2010 will for the first time be able to explore the events on a mobile application linked to onsite digital signage with mobile tags, courtesy of augmented reality specialist metaio.
To celebrate the fact that Essen and the surrounding Ruhr area are European Capital of Culture 2010, the events this year will showcase actual deployments and installations of interactive technologies for museums across Europe. Exhibits will range from 3D digital kiosks showing the work of the Estonian sculptor Amandus Adamson, wayfinding interactive museum kiosks and interactive holographic works of art to digital gesture-based book readers, all demonstrating that for the modern museum, interactivity is a must-have.
The Open Digital Signage Forum features a high profile line up of speakers including company leadership at JCDecaux, Futuramedia, Metro AG-Media Markt and Saturn, Harrods, Monopoly Media and IMTV, covering a range of topics from best practises in retail, successes and challenges associated with digital signage networks, the future of mall signage and challenges associated with creating compelling digital signage content to positioning networks with agencies and brands.
Further Workshops this year focus exclusively on Mobile Interactivity as a way to make self-service and digital signage ever more interactive and Museum Deployments of interactivity.
The European Association for Self-service will present their Self-Service Awards 2010 for Best Self-Service Design, Best Self-Service Solution, Most Innovative Self-Service Project and Best Self-Service Technology Award 2010. The results will be announced in the Kiosk Workshops and Seminars at 14.00 on Thursday 14th June 2010.
“Interactivity, whether at a kiosk or through digital signage, is expanding with the emerging trend of augmentation with mobile devices,” explains Jens Schindler, Managing Director of the organiser, hf media & events. “We are very pleased to be exploring this trend on the exhibition floor, in the Futures Parlour and in accompanying dedicated Workshops.”
“We are expecting record numbers of visitors to the fair, as we’ve seen a dramatic increase in our visitor pre-registrations so far. We’re also expecting more interest from museums because of our new Interactive Museum area. Essen and the surrounding Ruhr area are actually home to over 200 museums and, as the area is European Capital of Culture 2010, the Ruhr museums have been very popular recently.”
The more than 140 exhibitors include companies operating at an international level, such as Samsung, Optoma, Epson, Hyundai and LG. Sponsors are Provisio, Star Micronics, Bell Microproducts and impuls.TV.
A press conference and press lunch will be held on Tuesday, 15th of June 2010 at 1.15pm in the press lounge. To receive your complimentary press pass please pre-register at www.kioskeurope-expo.com or www.digitalsignageexpo.eu.
