LG's DS Portfolio

LG will display it latest range of digital signage solutions at DIGITAL SIGNAGE EXPO 2010, held at Messe Essen, Germany.
Video walls
One of the current hottest trends in digital signage, video walls, is also being addressed by LG’s new solutions. Stefan Tiefenthal, Sales Director Business Solutions, LG Electronics Deutschland, explains “One problem with most video walls so far had been that the effect which the customer wants to achieve with his display is disrupted by the borders which cut the image up and can cause distortion of the display. LG have addressed this problem by introducing a special narrower bezel.”
LG’s Super Narrow M4603C is an LCD display solution with high contrast ratio of 2,000:1 and a brightness of 700cd/m2, with a bezel of only 2.4mm on the left side and 4.6 mm at the right edge and so is ideally suited for video walls. Highest colour fidelity and clear images draw passersby in, with a wide viewing angle of 178. The 46” device supports a wide range of content formats and can be easily installed, managed and operated.
LG Multivision is a plasma screen video wall consisting of four individual plasma displays with a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, a resolution of 2730 x 1536 and a brightness of 1.500cd/m2. The devices are designed for use within video screen walls using the 60” panel. The panel bezels are only 4 mm thick. The plasma screen video wall reaches a screen size of 120”.
New touchscreens
LG has also introduced new touchscreens in 17” and 19”, which are particularly relevant for multimedia applications integrated into the POI or POS. Entries on the resistive and highly sensitive display can be made either by a finger or pencil. The panel has a viewing angle of 170o and high brightness of 300cd/m2 and high contrast ratio of 30,000:1 to guarantee optimal presentation of content.
Multi-touch
The 42” Full HD Digital Signage Display M4214T with multi-touch function is suitable for professional, interactive and multimedia POS and POI applications, even those that have to operate continuously. With a robust S-IPS panel, it has a maximum angle of 178 for the highest colour fidelity. The XD engine delivers sharp, detailed images. Each of seven picture modes and audio status modes enable the solution to be customised to diverse requirements. The HDMI input, and the BNC component input and two audio outputs help to future-proof the product.
Triple View
With the M4714V LG has added another highlight to its Business Solutions product portfolio. This device can simultaneously represent three different views on one screen. The 47” screen in portrait format shows, depending on the angle of the viewer, a different picture - this technology is particularly suited for unusual forms of advertising, as well as for use in restaurants and casinos. This solution has a brightness of 200cd/m2, a contrast ratio of 800:1, and a response time of 8ms and is in Full HD.
