Matrox Graphics Inc. has announced the availability of its new Matrox Veos, a multi-channel digital extension which allows multiple messages to be played concurrently from a single computer, through a single cable. This solution is made up of three components: A Master unit, Display unit and Repeater unit, which work together to create a highly flexible and workable digital signage installation. A single computer is therefore able to carry up to three channels of content along a single, copper-based, cable with over 100 metres of extension per component across an unlimited number of iterations, with no loss of quality. Veos expands, simplifies and guarantees image quality for digital signage installations.
 
The Display unit accepts the multi-channel digital signal that is provided by the Master unit, a Repeater unit, or another Display unit through a single RG6 or RG11 coaxial cable, and can re-transmit this signal to another Display unit or Repeater unit. Each component can be over 100 metres (330 feet) apart from one another, facilitating distance without compromising the image quality. The Repeater unit accepts the multi-channel digital signal from the Master unit, Display unit or another Repeater unit, and re-transmits this signal in two different directions.
 
A convenient channel selector button allows the content to be changed easily to tailor it to the potential audience. An unlimited number of Veos components can be daisy-chained to drive digital signage across an installation. All monitors must be in landscape orientation. An LED indicator installation feature allows the signal being received to be verified, and as it is generated at each component without the PC having to be on or connected.
