Hyundai adscalator A200K Total Media 2010 Digital Signage

Hyundai IT's Adscalator was showcased at Total Media 2010

Hyundai IT showed the full line-up of its next generation indoor and outdoor digital signage displays at Total Media 2010 in Madrid this month.

On display were newly-designed products like the H466AT, a 46" outdoor display. As a new feature, this product, which has an IP rating of 66, is fitted with a transflective LCD panel. This special panel is able to use the sunlight to increase the display's brightness. In combination with the regular backlight, the sunlight reflector makes it possible to reach a brightness of up to 3000 cd/m², when sunlight ambience is at 80K LUX. Another new feature is the anti-graffiti-protection: a special coating on the display allows the easy removal of paint without any damage to the display's surface. The integrated auto-brightness sensor measures continuously the ambient light and adjusts the panel's brightness accordingly. This should reduce power consumption and increase the panel's lifespan.

Also showcased was the new 46" indoor display D462FL, intended for building video walls. With a bezel size of 7.4 mm and two displays installed side-by-side, the design of the display ensures a maximum seamless screen area with a minimum of viewable interruptions. The built-in video wall function allows the installation of multi screen configurations including up to 5 by 5 single units (with amplifier even 9 by 9). For this reason no additional equipment, such as video split processors, is necessary.

The next product exhibited was the Adcalator A200K, a digital signage solution that also takes into account health and safety issues. Intended for installation at the entrance of escalators or moving walkways, it offers maximum exposure at highly frequented sites. In addition, it is equipped with a UV sterilization system so that the handrails of escalators or moving walkways can be kept clean. It also provides an effective means of drawing the passengers’ attention, as it can be used to display security notices. Due to a smart mounting system and the capability of being connected to a wireless LAN, it can easily be installed at existing escalators and moving walkways.

In addition to conventional 2D operations, Hyundai IT has also developed stereoscopic 3D displays. Using these, 3D models created with CAD software can be displayed more plastically allowing presentation to more closely resemble reality. The conversion of the contents to 3D format is done by a built-in formatter (models S465D and S468FL). This formatter also enables the real-time conversion of 2D contents into 3D contents. A 3D software package and polarised 3D glasses are included in delivery. Due to the slim bezel design, it is also possible to run these displays in a video wall configuration.

These new products were on display at Total Media, alongside standard public displays, sunlight-ready displays, wide view displays, stand-alone kiosk systems and touch screen solutions.
