The Harry Potter Premiere is broadcast live to Transvision digital billboards across London.

The final instalment of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows- Part 2, premiered in London on Thursday night, with hundreds of fans turning up at Trafalgar Square to see its stars on the red carpet. For London commuters who couldn’t make the premiere, the event was streamed live to Transvision digital billboards at major train stations across the capital.

The campaign, devised by Grand Visual and a collaboration of media, outdoor and creative agencies, featured live footage from the star studded red carpet event and included a ticker text commentary on the proceedings. Grand Visual streamed the footage and commentary using OpenLoop, their ad serving platform which allows advertisers to manage live copy executions across all major UK DOOH networks.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows- Part 2 is the first film premiere to stream footage live to digital billboards in the UK. Footage was streamed to ten JCDecaux Transvision Screens in a station domination that ran from 4.00pm - 7.30pm on the 7th July.

Dan Dawson, Digital Director at Grand Visual, commented: “Digital OOH technology and infrastructure now allows advertisers to run live and dynamic executions that can capture events as they happen and deliver an exciting and rewarding viewing experience.”
