Oxford Street’s easyInternet Café is the first of a new London site network planned to feature large format digital projection screens in the shop windows, as part of the new projection system from outdoor media contractor and technology company WindowGain UK. AV integration company Paradigm, using WindowGain technology, installed eight Panasonic PT-D5700 DLP projectors in the Oxford Street location, creating two eye-catching HD rear projection screens of up to 40ft² on the ground floor and up to 80ft² on the first floor. The screens’ content is displayed to the public on Oxford Street, one of the busiest roads in London, creating unique advertising opportunities.

The system, which allows shop windows to be used for advertising and messaging purposes to communicate with the public in an innovative manner, is the first in a rollout of key London sites to be announced.

WindowGain’s recently launched Hi Max (High Definition – Maximum Impact) system has already been installed in 11 flagship shopping malls across the UK including Bluewater, The Metro Centre in Gateshead and the Bullring in Birmingham.

Simon Russell, Managing Director of WindowGain UK commented: “We chose Panasonic D5700’s for their functionality and resilience. The projectors’ brightness of 6000 lumens enables crisp, sharp images even when projecting in ordinary daytime lighting, which was paramount for a shop window display. We developed our own edge-blended HD image which allows stunning visuals and the possibility to create displays over 200ft².”
