Ten 40” monitors, controlled by the editIT/playIT digital signage system from Macnetix, have been installed in the largest student cafeteria facility in Rostock, Germany. Five of them are for displaying food offerings at the dispensing locations, while an additional four panels were mounted as informative split screens. One last screen is reserved exclusively for advertising purposes and event information.

“For the signage of our student cafeteria we decided in favour of the software programme from Macnetix, as it can be used in a very versatile fashion,” said Jürgen Weigang, system administrator of the student union of Rostock. “The system should not only present the meal sequence, but should also address the three different user groups of the establishment: students, staff and guests. The previous signage was not capable of this. With ediIT/playIT we can display many more items than we could before. It is also easier to read, and both uncomplicated and comfortable in its usage."
