UEFA Euro 2012 stadium screen system

Poland's Stadion Wroclaw has commissioned a large state-of-the-art screen video system.

Mitsubishi Stadium screen

The 42,771 capacity stadium is set to be the main venue for the UEFA Euro 2012 football tournament and will also house an impressive range of other major cultural, entertainment and sporting events during next year, displaying the action to spectators on two 98 square meter screens overlooking opposite ends of the stadium.

Mitsubishi Electrics have supplied the two 12.8m by 7.68m screens, consisting of its recently introduced Diamond Vision ODX8 LED screen modules. Each 15:9 aspect ratio screen offers a native resolution of 1600 by 960 pixels at 6000 cd/m², delivering extremely high-quality images in all lighting conditions.

The screens are driven by the company’s latest and most advanced digital display controller, the XDC-6000. The controllers feature dynamic gamma correction technology and MPEG noise reduction to greatly enhance the contrast and clarity of the image. The XDC-6000’s unique interlace to progressive scan conversion algorithm significantly reduces artefacts from the fast-moving content often encountered at sporting events, and deliver a screen performance of startling quality.
