The company’s DS portfolio comprises solutions for transmitting, distributing, switching and mixing of content. Numerous extender variants extend audio and video signals both via CATx cables and optical fiber. USB-HIDs (Human Interface Devices) for bidirectional communication at kiosk terminals can also be extended in realtime - and placed where they are needed, away from their computers. The DVI-D Plus USB HID Extender, for example, uses a single CATx cable to extend the video signal and HID data up to a length of 50 metres. Developers state that since the existing IP network is used, virtually unlimited, loss-free extensions of digital video signals are possible with the ServSwitch Agility. This can also be used as a KVM switch and is therefore suitable for AV applications as well. The digital switch matrix allows for loss-free KVM switching between DVI/USB computers and distant workstations with DVI monitor and USB-HID peripherals at a maximum distance of 140 meters via CATx or 10 kilometers via optical fibre.
