Sailors watch giant movie screen from the comfort of their yachts

The annual Cowes Week Regatta on the Isle of Wight finished on a high as participating sailors were treated to a big screen drive-in style cinema.

Over 100 yachts watched Oscar-winning sea-faring movie Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, which was chosen over Jaws and The Perfect Storm via a public vote.

Competing yachts entering the harbour on the final day dropped anchor and watched the film on a huge 12.5mx 6.4m (41x20 ft) screen, provided by Big Screen Media.

The company provided Digital Signage video advertising and information displays at last year’s Regatta, and returned to the 2011 event with this world first in sailing entertainment.
