Manchester Central has signed a new three year contract with Blitz Communications to provide AV and digital signage for the venue.

The converted Victorian railway station is a major convention centre and venue in the centre of Manchester. The venue is now in its 25th year and has just undergone a £30m redevelopment, which increased the client facing footprint by 4000 square metres.

The venue plans to invest in digital signage throughout the complex, maximising opportunities for event organisers to communicate to delegates. Thirty-three new digital screens will feature real-time conference updates. A digital traffic light system will also be available for seminars and break-out sessions, meaning delegates can be alerted in advance as conference sessions begin to reach capacity.

The digital signage project will be overseen by Blitz Communications, which has over 20 years experience in the events industry.

Lesley Tomlinson, Chief Executive of Manchester Central, said, “Blitz is a market leader in AV and offers the best quality of audio visual support, graphic design and project management for our clients, allowing creativity when designing sets, helping to give events a real wow factor.”

Munir Samji, Chairman and Chief Executive of Blitz Communications, added, “Manchester Central is one of the UK’s leading convention complexes and it continues to be at the forefront of the industry, striving to provide the best services for its clients. We are thrilled to continue as Manchester Central’s AV partner, and look forward to another three years at the venue.”
