Animation Exhibition uses Digital Signage solution
High definition media players were used as an integral part of a touring immersive visual experience at ‘Watch Me Move: The Animation Show’.
Supplied by specialist distribution company, Pixels UK, the animation footage includes highlights from Disney and Pixar, with the entire experience chronicling the history of animation over the past 150 years.
The installation also included technical support including product specification and programming for specific tasks. Most of the players are set up to play continuously from power-on without any human intervention; others play continuously in networked synchronised pairs, and one specific unit used to control spot fx lighting.
This total solution ensured that there was no need for a separate show controller thus saving money and simplifying the design.
‘Watch Me Move’ uses a total of 67 media player units - sixty HD110 looping players, six HD210 network players for the synced pairs, and one HD410 interactive player controlling an Audionics EMU.
All BrightSign players are fitted with 8GB SDHC high-speed flash cards, providing sufficient storage for the hundreds of standard and high definition media files for the Watch Me Move exhibits.
‘Watch Me Move’ started at London’s Barbican Art Gallery until is now touring at the Glenbow Museum, Calgary, Canada until the end of the year before commencing a two-year tour in Asia.
