Canon new range of LV projectors DS Europe

One of Canon's new LV projectors.

Canon has announced the release of five new projector models in its portable LV series. Ranging from the entry-level network-ready LV-7290 featuring low running costs, to the more powerful LV-7490 with 4000 lumens brightness, the company believes that the series contains a model for every projection need.

According to developers, the products were designed with high performance, portability and cost-effectiveness in mind.

All of the new machines offer XGA resolution (except the LV-8225, which features native WXGA resolution) to provide sharp image detail and bright clear projections for classrooms, boardrooms and meeting rooms.  The wide-angle 1.2x zoom projection lens and 10W speaker are fitted as standard across the range.

The devices have an extended lamp life of up to 6000 hours, filters with a service life of up to 5500 hours and a power consumption of less than 1W in standby mode. the company states that all of the models are also suitable for quiet environments due to their low noise, which is 29dBA when set to ‘Eco Mode’.

The devices have been designed to offer a range of benefits to meet varying business needs:

The LV-8225 is a widescreen projector with WXGA resolution (1280 x 800 pixels), offering 2500 lumens and up to 6000 hours lamp life; this has been designed with business and educational environments in mind.

The LV-7490: With XGA resolution and 4000 lumens, the LV-7490 is the brightest projector in the range. The high brightness makes this model suitable for larger venues, or those with greater levels of ambient light.

The LV-7390 combines a bright 3000 lumens output with XGA resolution and networking capability, making it suitable for more demanding environments such as large meeting rooms.

The LV-7295 has been designed for corporate and mobile applications. This device enables bright image quality at 2600 lumens output with versatile XGA resolution.

The LV-7290 is the entry level model, but the company says it still offers strong performance with a respectable 2200 lumens alongside reduced running costs.

Julian Rutland, Canon’s Visual Communication Product and Solutions Director, commented“At Canon, we draw on our strong heritage in lens design and manufacturing to develop powerful  image projection technology.  We are pleased to update our LV range to offer businesses of all sizes and budgets a range of cost-effective options with no compromise on quality.”
